We're so excited to finally introduce you to our fabulous summer intern, Victoria! We're so lucky to have her helping with social media, brand management and everything in between :) To get to know her a bit more, we asked her a few hard hitting questions about everything from favorite fashion pieces to guilty pleasures. Make sure to say "hi" and give her a warm Midwest welcome! xx
Name: Victoria Fok
Blog Name: I don’t have a personal blog, but I write online content for MODA,
UW-Madison’s only student-run fashion and lifestyle magazine
Current City:
Madison WI
1) When & why did you start becoming interested in fashion?
I probably started becoming
interested in fashion in Middle School. I remember reading magazines at the
Dentist office and just being absolutely fascinated with Vogue. The glossy
pages and glamorous spreads definitely drew me into the fashion industry. In
middle school, I had to wear a uniform to school, but on Friday we would get a
free day to wear whatever we wanted. I remember I would spend the entire week,
planning out the perfect outfit. I just loved how fashion and clothes allowed
me to express myself as well as the fantasy element of fashion, fashion
magazines allowed me to transcend to a different and more glamorous world.
2) What’s the greatest thing that’s come out of writing for MODA?
Probably all the awesome
opportunities, I have gotten to be a part of this year as well all of the great
fashion-loving people I ‘ve met this year! Definitely also this internship with
Midwest Bloggers, I definitely wouldn’t have met all the lovely ladies of
Midwest Bloggers if it wasn’t for MODA’s Blogger Panel this past spring
3) When you’re not writing or dreaming of fashion, what can you be
found doing?
I am an incoming sophomore at UW-Madison studying Marketing, so I
can be found in class, studying at my favorite library, Wisconsin Historical Society’s
Library, taking study breaks at the Terrace, and working as a Social Media
Intern for The Morgridge Center for Public Service.
4) If you were stranded on a desert island, what would be the one
thing you would take with you?
My favorite DIY tie-blanket and Coffee. Must have coffee.
5) What’s your “can’t live without” piece in your closet or kitchen?
In my closet, it would be my polka dotted cardigan, it adds a pop
print and excitement to any outfit and
goes with everything from jeans to skirts
to dresses! My piece from my Kitchen would be my Keurig.
6) On a Friday night, what can you be found doing?
I can be found relaxing with my friends and probably binge-
Netflixing. I watch Scandal like it is my job ( I wish it was).
9) What’s your favorite quote? Or what’s a quote that describes you?
My favorite quote is “You must do the things you think you cannot
do,” by Eleanor Roosevelt. I love strong women and Eleanor Roosevelt is the
definition of that. She was unafraid to do what she was passionate about and
definitely revolutionized the role of the First Lady. This quote just inspires
me to keep trying new things and never say no to new experiences.
10) What’s your dream job if you haven’t landed it yet?
My dream job would be either working in Brand Management for a
major fashion publication or fashion brand, or working as a buyer for a major
retailer.
11) Guilty pleasures?
Chocolate and Babcock’s Mocha Macchiato Ice cream
12) What’s your favorite “little thing” in life?
Being able to sleep in on the weekends. There’s nothing more
golden than not getting up until 11 on a Saturday.
13) What are you most excited about working with Midwest
Bloggers?
I am excited to be
working with all of the lovely ladies of Midwest Bloggers as well as connect
with all of the lovely bloggers in the Midwest Blogging community. I am excited
to hone my social media, account management, and writing skills!
Hi Victoria! I'm a huge fan of sleeping in on the weekends, when my body allows! I need to jump on the Netflix train, is it shocking that I don't have it?!
